Have a ball
Buy a cheap pair of knee high socks. Put a tennis ball into one of them. Once you've put the ball in, knot the end of the sock. It will be easier to play fetch with him as you'll be able to fly the ball further away. It's also great for playing tug-of-war games, however this should only be done by adults, not children. (It's better to use a new sock for this one so your dog doesn't think it's okay to use your socks, otherwise you might end up with a sock-thief on your hands).

Bottled fun
Use a hard, empty plastic bottle. Keep the lid on and cut a small hole at the other end of it. Then fill it with lots of yummy LUCKY DOG food. Tape the lid closed so he can't accidentally pull it off. As he shakes and plays with the bottle, little bits of the delicious food will come out - rewarding him for playing. He'll love it!
This is a great toy to leave him with in the morning as not only will he be entertained, he won't go hungry either. If the bottle starts to look chewed or broken it's time to make a new one. |
Tunnel
Your dog will need to know how to crawl for this game.
Put a chair in the middle of the room or yard (hallways work really well for this game!). Have your dog lay down on the ground behind the chair.
Kneel down on the other side of the chair and hold a LUCKY DOG treat under the chair. Ask your dog to crawl until he goes under the chair and out the other side.
As your dog gets better and better you'll be able to line up a whole row of chairs and have him crawl through a tunnel. To make it even more exciting, you can cover them with a sheet or towels to make it dark under the chairs. Remember to cheer wildly when he crawls out the other side! |
