Teaching the furriest member of your family some new tricks can be a lot of fun. It's a great way to bond and, once he's picked up some tremendous tricks, it's an ideal way to show off how clever he is!
Teaching tricks does take patience and it's important to remember that every dog will learn at their own pace. Never correct or scold him and if it's not working, then change your approach.
Trick or treat?
LUCKY DOG treats are an essential part of teaching him tricks. Give him lots of treats and encouragement - but do make sure they are given during the correct part of the training!
These step-by-step instructions will show you the way.

Your dog might not be able to talk, but after just a little bit of training, he'll be able to say 'please'! This trick isn't easy for all dogs, and shouldn't be done by big dogs, or ones that are overweight, but with LUCKY DOG treats to help you, your little mate won't need much coaxing.
Step 1
Have your dog sit down facing you. |
Step 2
Hold a LUCKY DOG treat just above his head and tell him "Say Please". |
Step 3
Your dog will probably lift his front feet off the ground to reach the treat. As soon as the feet are lifted, even just a little bit, give him the LUCKY DOG treat. |
Step 4
Wait a little longer each time before giving your dog the treat, but be careful not to let him fall over on his back! |
After a little while, your dog should sit up attentively every time you say "Say Please", though he'll like it a lot more if you continue to give him the LUCKY DOG treats!

Step 1
Ask your dog to lay down. When he does, move and stand beside him. |
Step 2
With a LUCKY DOG treat in your hand, bend over and hold the treat near the ground just in front of your dog's paws. |
Step 3
When he moves forward to reach the treat, move it just a little bit further away from him to encourage him to move forward. When he moves, say "Crawl" - remember to move it just a little bit at a time otherwise he'll stand up to walk to the treat. |
Step 4 Keep repeating and increase the distance over time. |
